How come pretty much all of those End Time prophecy that Jesus spoke of, were fulfilled in 70AD?

if you were to Read Josephus Flavinus' War of the Jews, all this stuff that Jesus said would happen, stuff like the famine, desoaltion of the temple, death, and war, false prophets, and things like that. All that was fulfilled, from 30 AD till 70AD.

So if this was supposed to happen in the Rapture time, why is it all recorded as already happening by Josephus?
true, to the Jewish people, it was the End.
yes, as the guy said. Matthew 24 at least, was fulfilled between those times.

Public Comments

1. they had to give the believers something to look forward to.

2. Because Josephus Flavinus was wrong.
Dude, you trust a guy you've never heard of but for a book over Jesus Christ? You're not Christian, I guess.

3. What Jesus was talking about is on a world wide scale, not in just one part of the earth but to mankind in total.

4. Israel is God's time piece... when did Israel become an independent nation? 1948... and they regained Jerusalem in 1967... the Bible says the generation (40-70 yrs) that sees these things come to pass shall NOT pass away before the end comes....

I'll throw these in for good measure...

Revelation 9
13And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
14Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
15And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
16And the number of the army of the horsemen were TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND THOUSAND: and I heard the number of them.

Revelation 16
12And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was DRIED UP, THAT THE KINGS OF THE EAST might be prepared.

5. I believe it also says that the entire world will have heard about Jesus before the end time
do you know of any group of people who have yet to hear the message?
are there still untaught peoples in the world?
and even those people who once heard but have over generations of neglect or persecution no longer know the message?
no one knows the time or hour, not even the Son

6. i believe that it also says that the world will be under one gov. and stuff like that. i believe that to be happening now with the whole car dealerships and stuff. he also says that the holy land will be in war which israel didnt become independent until like 1950s

7. Yeah right. Do a little more homework, and you will see that just is not so.

8. Jesus failed.

9. Because for the Jewish people, the destruction of the Temple WAS the end of the world.

As for false prophets. They still keep coming up. Eg: David Koresh.

10. They were. The entirety of Matthew 24 and the apocalyptic accounts in the Revelation occurred between 66 and 73 AD.

11. So John of Patamos was actually writing a history book, but he was so effed up on amantia shrooms that he called it prophecy instead? Interesting..

Please tell me the "HISTORY IS DANGEROUS" lady is joking...

12. Jesus didn't give such a prophecy. It was given to the Apostle John. All those prophecies continue to this day.

13. History is dangerous.....soon you are going to be saying things like, wow...look....there's a continuous line of succession of popes, and, while the doctrines has grown and matured, it's the same in essence.
While i do believe the end of this earth will come, i agree that much of that prophesy was fulfilled. for a very interesting interpretation of the Book of Revelation read Scott Hahns "the Last Supper". FYI, Love Josephus!!!

14. When you read matt 24, called the Olivet Discourse by scholars, there are three questions being addressed.

1. When will the temple destruction happen?
2. What will be the sign of your second coming?
3. What will be the sign of the coming of the End of Age?

prophecy in Daniel 9, the angel Gabriel said that Israel would be given 490 yrs from the date of authorization for the temple to finish everything up. 483 were already used up, and the temple wasnt finished yet. so it was disheartening to hear that it would be destroyed. It was also prophesied that Jesus would come at the precise timing he did in those years predicted by daniel.

First he reassures the disciples of the eternal life will have despite what they will endure here on earth.

and then he warns gives them the detail of the temple destruction. the key phrase in this that is different, but similiar sounding as to Matt is found in Luke in regards to the temple :

"For this is the time of punishement in fulfillment of all that has been written." refering to the many prophesies given in warning to Israel about their messiah, the new covenant, and even Israel's betrayel.
then it goes on to say: "Jerusalem will be trampled on by the gentiles until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled"
this is showing what we now know as the church age. so this has to do with more prophecy, which was fulfilled in 1948 Israel became a nation again and in 1967, the end of gentile dominion....showing a clear sign that we are fastly approaching the end of days....
so this answers how they will know when the end of days are approaching.

Matt 24 shows the end of days scenerio that will be a def sign and that is when the AC shows himself to who he really is with the abomination of desolation.

the important clues are in ot prophecy in a lot of this. there are many examples of parallel spiritual prophecies. this is how God verifies his prophets. remember, God told his people to kill false prophets and tht they would know if what they say didnt come true. well if it was too far into the future, and they didnt know that...God gave partial fulfillment.

the abomination of desolation already occurred when Jesus mentioned as happening again. it was the cause of the maccabean revolt. So Jesus is saying this will happen again on a larger scale in the end days...in Matt. 24. so now there is no temple. so its safe to say the building of one will be a big sign for the next step.

the reason we see some and not all...is in what Jesus said. it will be like birthpains. it will become more frequent and more intense.

great studies on this is on GraceThruFaith, i suggest articles: olivet discourse, rapture, and even the study on Revelation, end times according to isaiah and end times according to daniel.

15. alot of events spoken of in the Bible reoccur in cycles. we can all give witness to false prophets, famine, war, death, happening over and over.

if you check on the internet you can find news articles of Jewish groups who want to rebuild their temple.

when that happens other temple related events could also happen again. for instance, the apostle Paul (2 Thessalonians 2:4) wrote that a man like antioch (168 BC - prophesied by Daniel and Jesus) epiphanes (translated - god manifest) will go into the temple and claim that he is God.
in verse 8 it states that this man will come on the scene during the time shortly before the second coming of Christ returning to the earth.

16. Your analysis of Josesphus's writings is not Josephus's. The analysis is what is incorrect.
It is obvious that the Antichrist did not arise in 70 AD since the Bible Rev 19:20 tells us that the Antichrist (beast) is thrown alive into the lake of fire by Jesus at His comning and it is obvious that Jesus has not returned.
Rev 19:20 And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.
The destruction of the temple in 70 AD fulfilled Luke 19:44, which wasw not connected to the Antichrist.
Luke 19:44 and they will level you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”
If you study the scriptures you will see that there is nothing that happened in 70 AD regarding Jerusalem and the temple that resembles what the scriptures describe will happen when the Antichrist arises.
