Will the Biblical End Time Religion be Athiesm ?

im reading the bible a lot nowadays and the three ladies (latter day saints) that come to our house everyday tuesday always say that people will lose faith and become animal like in the end. and honestly they make sense sometimes. btw, any thoughts on end time prophecy welcome. thx.

Public Comments

1. or satan worship after rapture!!!!

2. serious food for thought? what if the apocalypse is really when christianity ends? Thats my new question.

3. Biblically, the end-times began at Pentecost.

4. There's a sucker born every minute.

5. "End time prophesies" are vague predictions that fit pretty much any period of time, allowing the gullible to indulge in doomsday fantasies. Both Jesus and Paul prophesied that the second coming and end times would happen within the lifetime of their audience; during the first century CE. It didn't, so that pretty much invalidates Biblical end time prophesy.

Atheism isn't a religion.

6. It'll probbaly be evolutionism.

7. RAmen.

8. Atheism is the lack of belief in gods. No more, no less.

9. The biblical "end times" crap is nothing short of a rant from a pissed off zealot.

10. exactly right there what else go on....o'wheaty one

11. One minute after the end of time there will be only believers, no atheists.

12. Atheists have faith...
Faith that science and mankind will eventually overcome.

13. There will never be an end-time religion. Christianity has had over two thousand years to prove their allegations and they have failed miserably.

14. Two problems with your statement:

1. "im reading the bible a lot nowadays..."

and

2. "honestly they make sense sometimes..."

Here's a clue: ALL cults (and all religions are cults) preach that "heathens" will oppose them. It's an extremely common factor among religions. Why do you think that is? Well, if your goal is to get a large number of people to believe something completely absurd, something which most thinking people can see immediately is untrue, then it's to your advantage to tell them that outsiders "who are agin' the brethren" will be liars and faithless and blasphemers.

If you really want to believe in such nonsense, go ahead. I'll do the thinking for both of us.

15. No.

Atheism = No divine recognition deitiesdieties.

Revelations dictates that there is a religion where everyone worships the statue in the rebuild temple of solomon, and to declare your faith in this religion you would require a mark on either the forehead or arm.

16. oh yea, because i'm such an animal for being an atheist.

17. Like animals? We are animals, hence the physical body and the animal instincts. Yet, unlike the OT people, I have better control than to commit incest or think 'my' deity is a warlike desert nomad.
Atheism is not a religion anyway. It is a point of view about religion.

18. "...say that people will lose faith and become animal like in the end."

Many people with faith and without faith are animal like now. How many atheists have tortured people to convert them? How many atheists have flown planes into buildings?

19. Moro. 10: 3-5
3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

20. Biblical end of time is all nonsense.

21. People spin that crap to mean whatever they want it to mean. The French revolution was the high point of atheism in France. They killed off about 40,000 people, not my groups best moment... But when you compare it to the millions killed by religious people it makes me feel better about my group.

-Billy

22. Latter day saints aren't exactly experts on the Bible, their error and inaccuracies are.... anyway. They seem to miss alot!

If you actually read carefully you will see good called evil and evil called good and people being led away to worship the beast. I think it will be a distorted version of Judaism or Christianity or Islam. The willingness and antagonism we see in hate-theists like Dawkins and Hitches although extremely hostile to Christianity is generally self centered and narcissistic in nature precluding the worship of anything.

This is something I found and pasted as a reference awhile ago, by Bai Leung

The problem is that the new atheist is not so new, their absolute, declaration of others as intellectually inferior, their smugness and their arrogance can be easily seen in history. In a recent example these same attributes were being built into the new generation of German youths in the late 1930's in Germany. If you read about the way Germans treated the Jews, Dutch, Catholics etc. you will see this same "superior" attitude. The contrast between these "super men" and a Christian faith is seen in the encounter with such a German youth in Corrie Ten Boom's book "The Hiding Place"

Now this new generation of educated and indoctrinated men revere their supposed superiority and that of men like Dawkins, Hitchens and Harris and in 1930's Germany they followed another man to their deaths and many others with such faith and devotion! There are thousands of Christian martyrs each year and I expect that someday soon we will see execution of Christians for believing as predicted in Revelations.

Now with this generation being trained on every violent video game and television and the detachment from others and empathy for others we are creating Hitlers dream of a generation cruel and ruthless and devoid of conscience.

So maybe ..... but I don't think so. Narcacissm doesn't worship anything but itself.

23. I'm an agnostic today, used to call myself a Presbyterian, and have never belonged to LDS.

So you may not agree with this.

But in my opinion, the Bible is probably wrong about the "End Times," because to me the New Testament suggests that Christians have been expecting the immediate end of the world for nearly 2000 years now. And so far, it hasn't happened, which tells me that at least some of the Bible prophecies were wrong.

As for whether atheism will be the "end times" religion -- again, I'm an agnostic, and I can't pretend to answer you as a Christian. But I think IF there is an "End Times" -- and also if there isn't -- the religion preached by the Anti-Christ might turn out to be .. a fake form of Christianity.

To my mind, Jesus said that the most important 2 commandments were (a) to love God with all your heart, soul & mind, and (b) to love your neighbor as yourself.

Jesus in the 4 gospels of the New Testament also warned his followers against self-righteousness, rebuked the Pharisees for being uncharitable while quoting the Prophet Hosea about God "requiring mercy, and not sacrifice," and emphasized how important it is for Christians to forgive each other.

To my mind, this suggests that a seemingly "religious" leader might be following the Anti-Christ, or AN Antichrist, if that leader goes against these commandments of Jesus.

For example, suppose someone says he or she comes in God's name, but encourages Christians to hate their neighbors instead of loving them as themselves. Suppose someone claims to speak in God's name, but preaches condemnation of others rather than forgiveness, or cruelty rather than mercy.

Isn't this effectively an "anti-Christian" message?

So to me, I would be very suspicious of people who claim to speak in Christ's name, but who promote hatred, intolerance, unkindness, etc.

I personally think that "Christians" like this are worse than atheists, farther from God than the atheists are. But then, I have many atheist friends and have sometimes been an atheist myself.

I don't know if this answers your question.

24. It's funny how many religions see Atheism to be a religion of itself, which is their first misconception.

Atheist are not animal-like, anymore than the ones who call themselves religious. I love people who can deduct that if you are without faith, you are automatically evil. This is typically not true. If you look at many Prison tats, they are of crosses.

End of times is like Hallie Comet, Y2K and now 2012. People want to see the destruction in fantasy. Look at all the movies we have made like Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow and 2012. These folklore stories in the Bible are of the same caliber.

I suspect that if we could peacefully give up all religions, the next day more people would become nicer, more social and easy going. There would be less pressure. Not a return to the animal kingdom.
