What is the Message?

End time prophecy preachers, books are making tons of money. Is it true?

A lot of people are making a killing selling books, videos, and speaking about end time bible prophecy.

A lot of them claim near infallibility with their personal interputations of end time events from the bible, and there are HUNDREDS. Such as the 4 time divorced Hal Lindsey. He has written several books, videos etc. Unfortunatly, his interputations have changed so much overtime, you can't keep track. His 1st major book, "the late great planet earth", has had several revisions....including book dedications to two of his wives!

Do you people believe guys like this, or is it just to make money?

2. You'd figure that they'd give away most of that money, wouldn't you? Seeing as how they won't need it plenty soon enough, right?

5. No one can predict end times. Even Jesus said he did not know when the end would come. Only God knows that, and He's not telling. We know some of the signs that will signal end times, they have been put in the Bible, but there is no timeline as to how long it will take for these signs to be fulfilled.

6. End of Times is a big topic.. Mostly because we see all the scary things happening & want answeres.
I do beleive in the Book of Revelation. It is coming, but we do not know when..that is the point.

7. Lots people are making big bucks oin end of time stories.I maay write one myself to cash in. You cvan virtually write you own version as fact which is what the bible writers did.

8. Hal Lindsay has predicted the end of the world no less than 4 times and each time he has been wrong. In spite of this, he is now predicting the end of the world in 2008. Why would anyone believe a man who has been publicly wrong 4 previous times? A fool and his money are soon parted. I believe that there is Biblical prophecy, but Hal Lindsay and his ilk are not part of it. As Jesus said, "No one knows the day nor the hour, not even the Son, but only the Father."

And no..scripture isn't suppose to be interperted by anyone..only through the leadership of God can we understand what God Himself is telling us.

13. 2 Peter is correct. If the Prophet does not meet the Bible test for a true prophet, then it is not good, just another distraction from the devil, and yes a lot are money making schemes.

14. Yes it is true. The statement that they are making tons of money.

No the stories they are telling are not true. The rapture is the most common scenario used and it is so full of holes....

I do not believe in the secret rapture as is depicted by many churches.
I do beleive we will be taken from this world, but it cannot be a secret. See the following texts for starters:

1 Thes. 4: 13. But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16. FOR THE LORD HIMSELF SHALL DESCEND FROM HEAVEN WITH A SHOUT, WITH THE VOICE OF THE ARCHANGEL, AND WITH THE TRUMP OF GOD: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Doesn't sound very quiet and secretive to me. Check out the following verse:

Rev.1:7. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Lots of info in the Bible. It has to all come together. If we say one part is wrong then we cannot trust any of it.

15. Yes they are true to some degree, however the stories are sensationalized and many books and films have mis-interpreted some events here or there.

It is my feeling that anyone who desires Bible teachings should obtain them without charge or obligation. God provides the word of God freely and as freely we have recieved then freely should we give!

Why? People are always wanting to see the future.
People want to know what is going to happen to them.
It is built into us.
I wanted to read the book of revelation and Daniel at first.
Hal baby has been around for a long, long time. He has always touted himself to be a prophet. He has the inside track.
BULL! I am a Christian and why would God show him something He would not show me. Is he something special??

18. Excellent question, especially in this time when this message is blasted all over the television.

Jesus states that no one, not even he can know the time of the end, so what's to say that any of us can do what he claimed he can not.

It's very sad, because those that claim to prophesies the end of time are more than likely trying to gain interst in their books, CD's, Videos or whatever.

If you and I read the same passage, it doesn't matter which one, we would both come away with a different perspective, either slight or drastically different. So, no one person has all the answers. I believe, and this is my own belief which I do not profess as better than anyone elses, is that the bible is you own personal conversating with God. You get out of it what God wants you to get out of it.

As far as the end of times, no one knows when it will happen, and if someone claims to know then they are putting themselves above Jesus.

Just live life treating people as you would like to be treated as if your next moment is the end and you'll be fine.

19. alot of money can be made in writng your interpetations but it doesnt matter unless your one who falls victim to such fears but it can be a test of faith in the end being oh whats the answer uh happily ever after but alot of people stumble looking for some bad ending and they fear the winds and i just walk away and they might say fine leavithen and id say then get up and dont worry as the unfaithfull
