How seriously are vegans taking the Mayan 2012 doomsday prophecy? Are vegans worried?

Mr. Bob: I just want to official vegan stance on the issue

Public Comments

1. I don't get the correlation . . You're making the assumption that because someone is a vegetarian, that their beliefs are somehow steeped in crystals, fantasy, and ouija board beliefs . . I just don't see that to be the case

I'm a vegetarian, and I don't believe a bit of it . . actually if you take the time to look into it, it can easily be explained how this whole hysteria is just another trumped up bunch of Hooey.

There . . is that official enough for you

2. What exactly do you think a Vegan is?

3. About the same way horse enthusiasts feel, which is to say that everyone feels different about it, given the prophecy has nothing to do with their lifestyle/hobby.

4. Mayans were meat eaters, so the official vegan stance is that they were full of crap.

5. I don't get it either. I am not a vegan or vegetarian, but I don't know why a person's eating habits would have to do with the Mayn 2012 prophecy.

Why would it matter if someone was vegan, vegetarian or an omnivore?

Being vegan doesn't mean you are into supernatural spirits, or weird religious beliefs - it is just a choice of their lifestyle to not eat any animal products - has nothing to do with their religious beliefs....I know a few vegans that are in my church and have the same religious beliefs as me, but they just won't use or consume animal products for their concern about animals, nothing to do with their beliefs of God and the universe.

So I highly doubt there is any official vegan stance on the issue.

6. Im not worried about doomsday lol, and not seriously at all i mean, how is it a issue it is not gonna happen anyways!

7. Who cares about 2012?
Haven't you heard that the new date is Oct 21. 2011?
God's wrath will come and it will be awesome!

LOL, God.

Whatever.

8. They believe in the rapture, and they expect to be lifted up into magical fairy tale land in October

9. what the hell does that have to do with being a vegan? nobody seriously believes that bs

10. What? Now we're a group who all think alike? I think you confused us with 'society'.

11. There is no official vegan stance on the issue. It isn't a vegan issue it is a prophecy from an ancient culture. If a vegan chooses to believe in it fine, if they choose not to believe in it fine.

My personal opinion on the matter, I don't really care either way. I am not changing myself because of it.
