How is it that race and IQ can become a self-fulfilling prophecy for some students? Why do you think the controversy over race and IQ continues to resurface in the United States?

1. It continues to surface for a lot of reasons. For one, rap culture openly glorifies being stupid, then young black kids look up to these rap stars and begin to act stupid. Then people see all these young black kids barely capable of forming a sentence and they assume blacks are stupid, when in reality blacks aren't stupid at all, it's just that the rap culture which these kids look up to glorifies ignorance.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy because if one group of society is told that they're stupid and can't accomplish anything than that group will lack confidence and won't really try to do anything with their lives.
