Why do people say the gulf oil spill is related to the book of revelation & bible prophecy?

"The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea became blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed."


Also who knows will all the water on earth be affected by the oil,since the oil is spreading and spreading.

1. probably a BP propaganda campaign to draw attention from the real culprits

2. The prophecy has yet to be fulfilled, but since the oil in the water looked a lot like blood, people made the connection. Myself included. It's also mentioned in Revelation 16:3.
