What is the difference between a Prediction and a Prophecy?
I'd like to know the spiritual difference between a Prediction and a Prophecy.

1. Economists predict. God prophecies.
Prophecies *will* happen.
2. Neither of them come true reliably.
3. A prediction is a guess, a phrophecy is supposed to be what WILL happen. (true prophecies don't exist.)
4. I would say that a prediction is from man and a prophecy is from God.
The prediction may or may not come to pass, whereas the prophecy will be fulfilled.
Sometimes we don't understand the prophecy and don't recognize the fulfillment, but if it is a prophecy, it will be fulfilled eventually.
5. The difference is the spirit that is behind it.
Everything in the natural is a manifestation of what is happening in the spirit because the spirit is a greater [eternal] reality. So when a spirit "predicts" something, really what it is doing is telling you what is going on either in the spirit life of a person, or spirit life of a city, ect...before it actually manifests itself in the natural.
Basically predictions come from demons, prophecies come from the Father.
6. The word "prophecy" is quite a loaded word.Spiritually speaking , they are basically announcements of coming events that God will , in His sovereignty, cause to occur regardless of mankind's action. When the old testament prophets such as Isaiah , Ezekiel,Daniel and Jeremiah spoke prophecies , they were all foretelling the coming of the messiah Christ giving details about who He would be , where He would be born and how He would accomplish the salvation of Israel and mankind eternally and also how God would establish an everlasting kingdom and defeat spiritual fallacy. These prophecies were spoken approx 700 - 800 years before Christ was crucified and exactly matched His earthly ministry and suffering. Prophesy outside the Judeo-Christian experience is considered fallacy ,inspired by demonic forces attempting to divert the minds of the gullible towards deeper fallacious beliefs and away from the truth.
a prediction can be made by any human being and is basically nothing more than the logical deduction of statistical thinking.some people have such a keep ability to "see" trends within information ,even those outside their immediate understanding or study - that they can intuitively conclude a right equation , the results appear to us who do not have this aptitude to be supernatural or "magical" when in fact its nothing more than a really good guess based upon the collection of former understanding linked in some way to the subject at hand - the game show "wheel of Fortune" is a great example of statistical intuition. The brain stores all the information which it receives from the outside physical world and never forgets it even though there are safeguards which keep our consciousness from being overwhelmed by information which would result in the inability to function and keep ourselves safe from threats - these memories are stored and reviewed by our unconsciousness and this is basically the matrix of prediction
in my personal opinion ,of course
7. Prediction=a statement about the way things will happen in the future, often but not always based on experience or knowledge.
prophecy=a process in which one or more messages that have been communicated to a God's prophet are then communicated to others by this true prophet. Such messages typically involve divine inspiration, interpretation, or revelation of conditioned events to come (divine knowledge) as well as testimonies or repeated revelations that the world is divine.
In other words, if it is from God as the origin, and it is communicated for a spiritual purpose, it is prophecy
