What is the Message?

Will 2012 cause more fear than before? How much evidence is there to prove it?

From what I know there must have been plenty of doomsday prophecies... including Y2K and 6/6/06 and of course 2012 but how many have been feared recently and is 2012 any different? will there just be more panic on 12/21/2012? personally I don't believe in 2012 because no evidence seems realistic.

2. THE WORLD IS NOT ENDING!So Calm Down! Did you actually believe the world was going to end in 2000 also? Well think about this-
WHY WOULD THE WORLD END?

3. Evidence or no evidence, some people are stupid enough to get scared by any crazy "end of the wold" prediction. They just never learn.

4. Absolutely not. Many years were supposed to be an "Apocalypse":
1800, 1808, 1890, 1908, 1952, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, and now 2012. The mayan calender lasted nearly one-and-a-half thousand years. The only unique events occurring during that year is the Magnetic pole shift, which is a naturally occurring event every couple thousand years. The only thing that will happen on earth is crazy compasses, and maybe your cell phone won't work. The mayans also predicted humans evolved from corn, being struck by lightning gave you godly powers, and they also randomly disappeared a hundred year later for no reason. Nibiru WILL make its orbit through the solar system, however will leave as fast as it comes, being nowhere in Earth's orbit. Absolutely no evidence shows of an Apocalypse in millions of years. Besides, the very subject only became popular after a movie devoted for it, and maybe a year or two before. The end of humanity will not come in 2012. It will come, but not for a million of years when the sun expands. You will be dead by then, so don't worry. We will probably all be on a different planet be then anyway, as we have already found planets with the same conditions of earth. There is no need to panic. The world will not end in 2012. The sun and all its planets will not align, as none of the planets will align, and the sun will be 5 degress off from the galactic center, and this also occurs every 18-25 of December since Earth's formation.

5. There is no hard scientific evidence proving the disasters that are predicted for 2012. However, people that do believe in those myths will experience tremendous hysteria as the time comes closer to December 21, 2012.

7. Given the number of questions about 2012 posted on this forum (last time I counted, it was already over 80 thousand), I'd say that's good evidence that people are more scared than before. I think it'll be interesting to observe in 2013 the reactions of people when they find out that they've believed in a movie.
