The end of the world 21-12-12 at 11:11am?

Everyone’s on about the world ending on the 21-12-12 at 11:11am.
having read about it on the net it is a prophecy by the Mayans who say its the end of a cycle of so many years and the world will be making a transition into a new world.(the new cycle)
I want to know if this transition if any of it is true will involve us, the human race, dying out ????
This is the article I’ve read it sounds interesting but don’t know if I should believe it???

1. Okay, from what I can tell, there is a noted event that happens every some-million years, In which the poles start to shift, I believe it either starts or ends at that time. I've read a whole bunch on it not too long ago, and thats what I came up with eventually.

It could cause massive earthquakes and floods, or it could cause nothing at all, science is unsure.

As for the Mayans, I believe the reason they ended the calender there is because of how accurate their calendar was. If the poles where to shift, it would no longer be accurate, Thus causing them to have to stop.

2. I believe it... The people who dont believe it have no good argument they only talk about y2k when y2k wasnt even about the end of the world and if the world will end in 2012 does the fake y2k make it less likely? no it does not they have no evidance the world wont end in 2012. the mayans were very smart and the planets all align on the same day... it happens every 26000 years. we wont all die but almost all of us will only the smart ones will live and will carry on the next generation of life for the next 26000 years... if this didnt happen we would destroy the earth. the earth needs to dust itself off just like how you dust off your keyboard

3. All the mayans predict is a change not the end a change in consciousness which could mean anything.

Their calendar also goes past this date.

It is just rubbish and hype.

4. well i don't think i believe it.but if it was true then get of this computer and have some fun LOL.go and hit the night clubs and live it up.

5. All the time there are prophesies about the end of the world, No one knows when to set a date in the far future. It is plain superstition. You are looking at numbers, repetitive numbers that have no way of foretelling anything, Yes things will happen on that day and anything unusual will be reported in the news and attributed to it being on that day. Is Friday the 13th a bad day? Someone is always having a bad day, and on Friday the 13th people will notice it more because they are expecting it and reporting it more, so it could seem like that is a worse day, but in actuality it is not. People thought the world was going to end 1-1-2000 and people sold their homes and waited for Jesus to come back, while the person they gave their worldly goods too took off with a wink and a smile. It will be a time of transition because everyday is becoming a major day of transition. One thing that remains the same is you can always count on change, some folks have their heads in the sand over our need now to make changes for our future, and as the days pass we will see the consequences of people who were not good stewards of the earth. But science is pretty good, even if we are wearing gas masks to keep us from breathing polluted air. There will always be some sort of adaptation. Unless we blow ourselves up. The thought that someone might try to destroy intentionally a nation on that date is a little scary, But I think people are watching out for fanatics like that too. So don't worry be happy and try each day to make the world a better place for you and others to live.

6. The Mayans made no such prophecy. Modern day Mayans are sick of hearing about it: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/6300744/2012-is-not-the-end-of-the-world-Mayan-elder-insists.html
'Transition into a new world' is typical new-age bunk and is something that can be claimed has happened whilst most people see no change at all.
The website you reference is a collection of made-up nonsense. It's been debunked here: http://www.2012hoax.org/adishakti-org

7. Look at this iPhone App. The Mayan Myths.

8. Go read Harmonic Convergence, By Dr. Jose Arguellas.

The book says the world will begin to end around Dec 12 -2012 and slowly get worse untill 2050.

This is based on ancient myths and calendars of the South American indian's.

9. People have been saying that the world is going to end on certain dates for many, many years and nothing has happened.

As a Born-Again Christian and having accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior many years ago, I have read the Bible many times. The Bible is 100% true and the future of the world is clearly stated in the Book of Revelations. Pick up a Bible and read the last book in the Bible.

Jesus Christ is the only one who knows what day and time He will return to earth for His Church (true believer's). No other person knows the answer, only God.

John 3:16-18
