1. It's a joke.

2. Course it is. Think how much money was made.. Films, books, magazines, TV programmes

3. I heard about that. I doubt it has anything to do with 'doomsday' or the 2012 hysteria. It's happened before as the article said and we're still around today. Plus, I was told that at least where I am it's more likely that our power grids will be able to take it.

4. As I have said before, Global Warming and Climate Change are out of our hands, it's all down to the Sun's activity!

5. Did you read the full article? This is the strongest in 100 years, meaning, this happens often and is cyclic.

It will damage some of the technological infrastructure. Not Burn us to a crisp.

6. Not a hoax. Something is going to happen but 'an end of the world' event I doubt. That doesn't mean that chaos will not occur though. Put any modern city into a power-breakdown situation and then you will see the madness that ensues

8. Last big solar storm that hit knocked out power grids in Canada and the USA for a few hours. In most of the world, the lights didn't even flicker. Renecke is an amateur astronomer. He might be right, but maybe not.
