4. There is no Mayan end times prophecy. It's all down to a bunch of new-age wackjobs who gain insight from mystic signs, ancient prophecies and superstition. These are society's rejects. They don't have any friends and everyone on their street thinks they're a nutcase. But via their websites and blogs they can share their delusions with like-minded nutcases elsewhere. It makes them feel part of something. Should you stumble across any website that says anything unusual at all will happen in 2012, then you've found them. Back off slowly and leave them be.
2012 will be just an average year and there's not a scrap of scientific information which says otherwise.
