What is the Message?

Where is the USA mentioned in Bible prophecy? How could the most powerful nation ever not be mentioned?

Edit: Germany and Spain and Italy and England are in the Bible too. So is France, the Scandanavian countries, Russiah, Denmark, Ireland. They are all there.....

3. Because when the Bible was written the USA wasn't formed, or even discovered by the people who wrote the Bible.

4. That would have been a good prophesy wouldn't it? then we could know it came true. Why God, why?

5. No clue, but Daniel describes what sounds like an Apache helicopter.

He describes it as a giant armored locust that shoots fire, and has the face of a man. Now tell me that does not sound like an Apache helicopter.

6. The fact that it was discovered about 15 centuries later might have something to do with it.

There is something about the eagle and a bear. The bear joins up with Iran just before the tribulation. The eagle does not seem to respond.

8. It is not mentioned KemoSabe. What makes you think we are so special? We are not all that.

Though the United States is not referred to by name, many of the prophecies refer to the Nation whose God is Lord, the Nation which is just, the Nation that fears the Lord, and how many times does God lament that if MY PEOPLE, who are called by MY NAME, will humble themselves and pray.....? Maybe we aren't mentioned because God knew we would do things like take prayer out of school, take down public displays of the Ten Commandments, and make Christmas a credit card nightmare.

11. Maybe because the land of the USA was just a back-woods full of so-called savages at the time of prophecies and not worth a mention!

13. During history there have been many different "most powerful nations ever". The USA will not stay on top forever and the next "most powerful nation ever" will probably not be mentioned in the bible either.

14. Because it didn't exist when the bible nor the torah were written. That was during BC and early AD, The US was discovered in 1492 and settled later. You are talking about a book that covers the traditions, stories and laws of the JEWS (OT) followed by the birth and PUBLIC life/teachings of Jesus Christ then the book of Revelations which were written (supposedly) by his apostles and other followers pertaining to THEIR time and wanting their savior to return and rule the earth. And all this was put in a book 200 years after Jesus died on the cross, while the US was not around until over 1000 years later.

15. It isn't mentioned literally. However, there are symbolic elements that can identify the US. This is not an easy thing to explain.

Revelation 13:11  And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

Yea, the Lord hath covenanted this land unto me, and to my children forever, and also all those who should be led out of other countries by the hand of the Lord.
6 Wherefore, I, Lehi, prophesy according to the workings of the Spirit which is in me, that there shall none come into this land save they shall be brought by the hand of the Lord.
7 Wherefore, this land is consecrated unto him whom he shall bring. And if it so be that they shall serve him according to the commandments which he hath given, it shall be a land of liberty unto them; wherefore, they shall never be brought down into captivity; if so, it shall be because of iniquity; for if iniquity shall abound cursed shall be the land for their sakes, but unto the righteous it shall be blessed forever.
8 And behold, it is wisdom that this land should be kept as yet from the knowledge of other nations; for behold, many nations would overrun the land, that there would be no place for an inheritance.

2 Nephi 10
10 But behold, this land, said God, shall be a land of thine inheritance, and the Gentiles shall be blessed upon the land.
11 And this land shall be a land of liberty unto the Gentiles, and there shall be no kings upon the land, who shall raise up unto the Gentiles.
12 And I will fortify this land against all other nations.


1 Nephi 13: 14 (12-20)
14 And it came to pass that I beheld many multitudes of the Gentiles upon the land of promise; and I beheld the wrath of God, that it was upon the seed of my brethren; and they were scattered before the Gentiles and were smitten.

Mormon 5: 19 (19-20)
19 And behold, the Lord hath reserved their blessings, which they might have received in the land, for the Gentiles who shall possess the land.

Now I'm feeling patriotic

17. Revelation 13:11-17 pertains to the Anglo-American Empire just as Daniel's two horned ram symbolized the Medo-Persian Empire.

Rev 13:11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon.
Rev 13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
Rev 13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
Rev 13:14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and lived.
Rev 13:15 And he had power to give life to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save him that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18. The people who gave Revelation Scriptures to say we are mentioned could not explain WHY they think specifically that refers to the USA. The eagle reference doesn't cut it either. I don't like American pride. I'm with Annie, I think the 2nd answer. We might be destroyed. Time is short no matter what. Be concerned with making sure you abide in Christ obeying Him and preach the gospel to the lost people on the street. Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." That means we are to preach the gospel openly in public to every individual being. Christianity is not about having a church building, for they are unbiblical. Get some guts Christians, be a real preacher. Get out on the street and preach the gospel. We might be destroyed anyway, and there is no pre-trib rapture. Christians WILL go through the tribulation and some of us will be killed for Christ's sake. I have no fear of death. I will be killed, or destroyed because our nation gets destroyed, or get in an accident, or any other way people can die. So what! I preach the gospel. That's the best thing in the world to do. I don't get concerned with thinking about things I cannot control.
