What Bible verses prophecy that Jesus was of the seed of David?

Can anyone please list a few references that speak of Jesus being from the line of David? 10 points to the best answer

1. Check the gospels (matthew,mark, luke, john), one of them gives Christ's geneology to way back when....probably in the first chapter or two.
David will be mentioned.

Mary's mother was from the tribe of Levi
Mary's father was from the tribe of Judah - which is of David

2. that was something i never understood, they say that joseph's family line is from david, but according to the jewish rule, you are only a jew if your mother is a jew, and she ( mary) did not have a link to david. it wouldn't matter if joseph was linked to david because he wasn't the father of jesus. the lies are right there!!

Some say that Joseph's line does not count, since he is not the actual "blood father". The fact is, law matters! Joseph was Jesus' "adopted" father. He raised him as his own.

I have heard that the legal bonds of adoption are stronger than those of physical birth!
