Is what is going on in the middle east in fulfillment of bible prophecy.?
If so, whose side is the Messiah the Prince of Peace on?
Public Comments
1. No, its a result of human imperfection.
2. I hope so and I know it's not the side of the "Religion of Peace"
3. Jesus, who is God, has given the entire land of Israel to the Jewish people FOREVER.
4. No - all prophecy has been fulfilled
At best it is a continuation of said fulfilled prophecies
5. more like a self-fulfilling prophecy.
6. No, that will only be interpretation that it's in fulfillment. As for me and my Jewish heritage, the messiah has yet to come.
@ CJ: And yet, the land/area that Israel occupies today has gone back and forth with later and later countries, nations and religions conquering it.
7. no it's a result of decades and decades of british and american foreign policy.
8. Could be the deadly wound.
God is on no ones side except His elect.
9. Israel was given to the Jews, and the Prince of Peace is on the side of the meek
10. Nothing that can be directly identified....yet. A lot of Christians, including myself, are watching to see if what is going on now will confirm Psalms 83 as prophetic.
At the minimum it is helping to set the stage for Ezekiel 38 and 39 though.
Prophecy is not always an instant thing, some of them can take time to happen and years to finish. For example Ezekiel 36 and 37 are still going on.
As to who's side Jesus is on: he is on the side of Israel, they are his people in the land he promised them and soon, when they stand alone and surrounded by nations seeking to destroy them he will announce his presence by wiping out those coming against his people.
11. Everyone who is fighting in the Middle East are fighting for religious, political and land ownership purposes. If I were God.. I wouldn't be on either side... has Israel become something God does not want? Ask God.
12. No, there is no such thing as prophecy.
13. How are the events currently happening in the Middle East differant from what's been happening there for the past 5,000 years. They're at war, whats new?
14. Jesus went into heaven from the Mount of Olives. The angels said He would return as He left.
(see Acts chapter 1)
This then (among many other passages) remains to be fulfilled:
"A day of the LORD is coming when your plunder will be divided among you.
I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.
Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights in the day of battle. 4On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake [a] in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him. "
Zechariah 14:1-5 (written 500 years before Jesus)
The time is near. Keep yourself ready for His Appearance
15. 1. Not really in that it is leading to the fulfillment of key "end time" (more like the end of human rule) prophecies but it is not fulfillment of any one prophecy.
"I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.
- Zechariah 12:2-3
These things will ultimately occur when those who have the hardest of hearts (towards G-d) are in power in every nation. It is believed these things will happen only after G-d has revealed His power, love and reality to all the world.
2. G-d is not only pro-Israeli but also pro-Palestinian Arab. G-d wants to protect His chosen people, Israel and allow the Palestinian Arabs the chance to know Him, Jesus Christ
16. I d have to agree with Deruis537 on this one!
