what has building the alter in Israel got to do with bible prophecy?

1. It has something to do with the coming of the messiah. Once they start doing animal sacrificings then it means its closer to the times of the messiah, and other religions who are fearful for that "moment in time" are trying to prevent it.

2. The second coming/statrt of Armageddon.Most likely, The Israelies will destroy the Dome of the Rock occupying the space there-not only an Abomination to the Muslims, but of to God-once again the Israelies are straying even further from God. This last act will definitely lead to WW III.The israelies have made a series of tunnels around the boarders of the Dome of the Rock, claiming they are archeolgical expeditions- evidence idicates otherwise- what these true reasons are are anyone's guess. Most likely, as indicated, some way to remove the Dome of the Rock and replace it with the new third Jewish Temple. Themamite such as the Mossad used in 911 is a possibility to implode the Dome of the rock for easy removal.

3. Well - Revelation describes the temple and the altar being used. Therefore, it is believed by many Christians that the temple must be rebuilt before the events of Revelation can come to pass - that is, before the final judgment will occur.

Since there is no imminent threat of the temple being rebuilt, it seems to me that the point is moot. We will likely all be dead long before anyone has the scrogies to rebuild the temple (leveling some of the most holy mosques in all of Islam in the process).

Strange question!

First of all let me just say again NATURES CORNER you are an ignorant fool!

Now to your question.
Israel is NOT building an alter. There is no significant movement that believes in the rebuilding of the temple and no sane Israeli who would consider destroying the mosques on the Temple Mount. There are few crazies in a group called "The Temple Mount Faithful " who have attempted to put up the cornerstone of the third temple. They are no let anywhere near the area.

There is a concept of prophecy. The messiah coming and all things changing. But Jews believe that through our good deeds, charity, sabbath and other things we can bring this about. We are a practical lot. If the messiah comes and if the Temple has to be rebuilt, then we will work something out. Until then........whatever!

Note that this does, in no way ignore the fact that the Muslims did build their Mosques on our holiest site. I'm a little pissed about that. I'll get over it though.
