Doomsday 2012 - what will really happen?

The Mayans, Egyptians, Nostradamus, multiple prophecies and even astronomers today, independently tell us that on 12/21/2012 the rare event of an aligning of the Earth, Sun, and centre of the Milky way will occur.

Do you fear there is any possibility they are all wrong?

2. I may be a little psychic and I see a chance that a great sign will appear in the skys that everyone will see around the earth and there will be a supernatural occurrence connected with the sign and it will not be the end of the world and also this sign relates to the sins of mankind

4. First off i would like state that they are not prophecies, but are predictions. No, nothing will happen. Most mayan historians state that the end of the calandar is misinterpreted to mean the end of the world. Most historians just believe that the calandar starts all over from the beginning. There are other theories about earth being hit by something called Planet X. Planet X is suposidely 20 times the size of Jupiter. However, this scientists have proved this impossible. An object that size, and that close to earth would be easily visible to the human eye even now, years before 2012. And personally, when i look up into the sky i dont see any giant planets. Although most go unknown, there is always someone setting a date for the world to end. There is absolutley no evidence to suggest the world is going to end. Also, the earth sun and milkway will not align on that date. Mayan scholars claim that 2012 is not the correct date for an event like that. According to scientists the last Galactic alighment was probably 3 million years ago and is not likley to occur again until for another 20 or 30 million years. Polar Shifts do happen, the last one suposidely around 50 million years ago. Regarding Polar Shift, there are alot of theories floating around. Some scientists claim it wont happen for millions of years, while others claim that it could happen sometime in the next 20 years or so. However, none of this has anything to do with 2012. Polar Shift is not a instant change, it is a gradual change over time. You wont wake up on December 21, 2012 and find the poles to have shift, it doesnt work like that. There is also evidence from NASA, that in 2012 the sun will have its greatest solar flares. However, again this is not related directly to the mayans prediction. It will not occur on the date set by the Mayans, it just might occur in 2012 or 2013. This is not uncommon either, the last largest solar flare was back in 2001, and we are still here. Just like Y2K, people and media are blowing this idea way out of preportion. Nostradamus never predicted anything related to 2012. Yes, interesting things will occur in 2012 or around that year, but none of them will end the world. People will believe whatever they want, without looking at the facts. There is always someone saying the world is going to end, and yet it never does.

5. I've spoken with several other Mayanists and they all tell me that the only way to ensure that we safely make it through 2012 is by giving all your money to archaeologists you know and we will save the world.
