Is this a good idea for mythbusters?

i was wondering if mythbusters could do something on the 2012 doomsday. Why not set a scale to the galaxy, have a very strong magnet as the center of the balck hole, and align the planets the way they will be on 12/21/2012. I think it would finally give the people a good and accurate answer tho the 2012 doomsday prophecy.

1. No.

And there is no doomsday prophesy. The Mayan calendar ends in 2012. That's all. People say that means it's the end of the world because it's the end of the Mayan calendar. If that were the case, then Dick Clark has been hosting the end of the world for a few decades now with his New Year's Rockin' Eve thing. It makes for a cheap movie plot, but that's about it.

2. The problem is that to make a scale model of the galaxy, the solar system would either be tiny to the point of being unworkable, or the galaxy model would be too large to use a magnet. Also, you'd have to set the whole thing rotating (really fast) to counteract the pull of the magnet. Overall, it wouldn't work.

It's a question that would be nice for them to debunk. It just wouldn't be an experiment that they could carry out in the shop. I'd say submit it to their website anyways. They're nothing if not clever, and might come up with some interesting experiments that we haven't thought of.
