Why even listen to 2012 prophecy?

Why are good,honest christians becoming fearful of this 2012 nonsense,I mean it!It states no man,angel or even the divine son of God,JESUS CHRIST, knows when the end will be only the father does and yet we are becoming fearful of a date in which (sorry to whom ever i affend) savages put on a piece of stone?I really also doubt God will do it on a date like 12,21,2012 think about it,we go by diffrent calendars,we will never know when the end is so please answer,WHY are we afraid?

2. It's something to discuss over coffee, after the Sunday service.

Frankly I think it's unhealthy to go on about the end of the world - it detracts from living in the now.

3. The Mayans. They foretold a lot, and much of it is coming true. The truth behind the 2012 is there - look up polar reversals, the earths resonance frequency. They were onto something - not the end of the world...just something else. Perhaps it is not even that, it maybe, as they said, the end of the need for calanders...because we move into a new age of enlightment. Or something like that. It is true though that whenever anyone predicts the end, everyone listens!

4. Not only that, but God says that the end will happen at a time when people will least expect it, not when they are most expecting it.

5. What 2012 prophecy? Do you have a link to what people are saying? I haven't heard of this and I'd be interested...

10. :"OK. Most of you know that the earth has got a magnetic field. As the earth’s molten core is rotating; the magnetic field is created. The thought sphere of the human mind is located in the earth’s magnetic field. This magnetic field has been weakening dramatically over last ten years. Now, in physics there is a parameter called “Schumann’s Resonance”. Using that we can determine the strength of the earth’s magnetic field. While for many centuries, it was constant around 7.80 cycles per second, during the last 7-8 years; it has risen to 11 cycles per second and is continuing to increase dramatically. If you work it out mathematically, it appears that, by the year 2012, the "Schumann’s Resonance" is likely to be 13 cycles per second. When this resonance is 13 cycles per second, the earth’s core would stop rotating with magnetic field gone, your mind is gone. When I say "your mind", what I mean is your " samskaras". The pressure of the past 11.000 years of samskaras will vanish. In the Dharma, we also say, “ Mind is Karma”. All actions start from your mind. The mind is nothing but a storehouse of samskaras or past life vasanas from which all action emanates. This is stored in the earth’s magnetic field. So in the year 2012, it will become zero for a few days. After that the core will start rotating again. This would be a fresh beginning for man or the dawn of the Golden Age. This is the significance of the year 2012. How do we know, it will happen? The study of fossil records has shown that, it happens roughly after 11,000 years. It’s only a short time away and then we can all start afresh. That is why I want you to become enlightened by 2012. If you are enlightened, with all your samskaras gone, we can begin a new Yuga, which can be called Sathya Yuga or the Golden Age. Man will enter into a new state of altered consciousness. As I told you already, the earth’s resonance is increasing which means the earth’s heart is undergoing a transformation. The earth has got a physical body, like you have a body. It has got a consciousness as well. Now, as the resonance is increasing, the earth’s heart is functioning very differently from before. Now, your heart and the earth’s heart are connected. The earth’s heart can be influenced by your heart and vice versa. That is why; it is essential that your heart- beat synchronize with the earth’s resonance. This means your heart must flower. Your heart will flower when you discover love in your relationships. If you have discovered love, you must stop judging your parents, spouses, etc., internally. Nobody can be judged as the whole universe directly influences all events, even the behavior of the people. So learn to experience life. Life has to be experienced, be it pain or pleasure."

14. Christians have had a lot of superstitions. Like medieval age crap and witch hunts.

I dont know why we're listening to people who couldn't keep their society intact after encountering Europeans with guns.

15. I'm not. I know I have nothing to fear from my heavenly father. As a reader of the Urantia Book, I'm wondering if this is when the celestial lines of communication will be reopened to this planet.

16. The 2012 end of the world prediction is a bunch of Buffalo dung.....along with Y2K....the coming ice age of the 70's....and global warming.

17. If we are Christians and place our faith in our Lord, then we are not afraid no matter when the end may come--be it the end of the world, or the end of our world.

Jesus did not give us a date for his return, but he did tell us the signs of the "season". We should always be alert and ready. God Bless.

18. I've personally wondered to. Wondered why some people suddenly are wanting to give credit to a calender of some other ancient "heathen" (their words, not mine) culture, when any other time anything that isn't strictly from their bible is invalid. I don't get it.

19. You have to remember that a lot of people will believe anything. 2012 is just a date and that is all there is to it. So, as to why people ( that is some not all) are afraid of that date? It is because they don't know how to research or are to lazy to do it and will believe anything.

I think it gives them a sense of knowing whats going on, and until when we have to live. Something that all of mankind would like to know... "when will I die"? It gives people a sense of being on the same level as our Lord which quite frankly is stupid by knowing or thinking they know when we are destined to no longer be on earth.

22. Everyone buys into these "end of the world" "prophecies". Honestly, if any of them were accurate, the world would have ended a thousand times over.

23. becuz every other prediction the mayan calendar predicted came to pass buddy. and what's ur definition of a savage? killing, raping, sacrificing people and animals, etc..... sounds like the history of ur religion to me. r u jehova's witness? they been predicting actual dates since the 70's. do ur homework b4 you judge or condemn other beliefs and traditions. we're entering a new age buddy. even ur jesus said it. end of an age not world, do ur research.

24. I think it is interesting. 2000/21/12. According to Mayan calendar and writings, a cosmic event will happen where the Milky Way lines up with the center of our Galaxy and will create a cosmic disurbance. Who know what that means. It is supposed to be really bad. Additionally, Mayan writings still records what happens aferwards. Something most don't know. That day apparently is a very bad day but a new day will dawn and it will be diffrerent from the one before. A new beginning. What that means, I don't know. I just hope it doesn't envolve camping. I am not a good camper. But as a Christian, I am not afraid.

You do realize that since Christ didn't actually give a date and time for the return, and most modern holidays in the christian tradition (Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter) are actaully adapted by pagan tradition. that it is entirely possible that the date of the apocalyse was doled out to someone other than the Isalites or the Christians so that the date could be discovered, recognized for its signiffigance, and prepared for when the time was right, rather than turn the 2,000 years prior to the date into one big count down to the end?

You know, cause God works in mysterious ways, and apparently on an astrological calender that we seem to have cracked recently.

I don't believe in any of this, but really saying someone elses horse shoe is less lucky than your rabbits foot is just bigotry... My god beat up your god, so your astrology is now useless. Take that Feathered Serpent!

26. because most people don't fully believe their religion whether they say so or not. there is always doubt, there is always possibility for others to be right, and anything and everything can pretty much happen. we just don't know much of anything. so any kind of conceivable threat in their mind should be acknowledged and tried to be stopped. there are twisted people out there that are trying to start the end of days. remember charles manson he tried to start the end of days. ever hear of doomsday cults? there are people out there crazy enough to try and start the apocalypse because they think it's there duty etc. etc. thats why people believe in the 2012 prophecies.

27. There's no reason to be fearful. This particular date simply offers an interesting point from which to consider the increasing rate and amplitude of novelty in human society.

28. "...a date savages put on a piece of stone?" That's the same as the Bible; a bunch of uneducated tribal nomadic sheep herders who wrote stuff on stone tablets.

29. 2012 is not the end of the world, people are misreading it. what it means is the end of the world as we know it, people will start to vibrate at a much higher level were what we do, say,think etc will come from a place of love as apposed to fear.

30. As Christians (those who are) we need to listen to what Christ said and not add bits of other beliefs to it. We have been told not to add nor take away!

31. I do not know.....I'm not afraid.....I look on it as a new beginning, if anything....... There is nothing I can do to affect this date, so I don't worry about it, and I let God handle it...
