How do you explain Bible prophecy, just dismiss it ?
How was it possible for the Old Testament prophet Isaiah to have predicted the virgin birth of Jesus (Isaiah 7:14) 700 years before it occurred?

1. ...burn it, never gonna happen anyway.
2. In fiction, you can write any ending you want.
3. Do you mean how someone wrote forty years the life of this Jesus character who knew of this prophesy and twisted the life of Jesus to make it look like the prophesy became fufilled?
4. hi im Fireball!
female born again Methodist. Im an army veteran with 2 adult kids who are both married and Im on 2nd marriage. Hell is graves. Jesus slept. We will too. See Ecc 9th chapter...we will either rapture from life or sleep first in the grave if born again..we all make typos and some should get over it since we dont get paid for this. This life is full of pain and suffering but the next one can be paradise if we repent etc.
5. The bible predicts things in the bible. And that's it.
That's like saying that Harry Potter is true because one book predicts what will happen in the next.
It's hilarious to me that you're able to question anything and everything about evolution, but a glaringly obvious flaw like this just sneaks right past ya.
6. I do not have to explain because i do not believe in it
7. The bible is not a history book, it's a fairy tale.
8. Pretty much, yes.
But if you're willing to go to just a bit more trouble, read the new testament, and don't take any of their quotes for granted. Read it as you would if you were a prosecuting attorney verifying the statements of the accused. Check every reference in the OT. Read the context in which those quotes were lifted off. Unpleasant from your point of view, to say the least.

11. Biblical prophecies debunked
http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/CH/CH110.html
12. 1. There are several mundane ways in which a prediction of the future can be fulfilled:
* Retrodiction. The "prophecy" can be written or modified after the events fulfilling it have already occurred.
* Vagueness. The prophecy can be worded in such a way that people can interpret any outcome as a fulfillment. Nostradomus's prophecies are all of this type. Vagueness works particularly well when people are religiously motivated to believe the prophecies.
* Inevitability. The prophecy can predict something that is almost sure to happen, such as the collapse of a city. Since nothing lasts forever, the city is sure to fall someday. If it has not, it can be said that according to prophecy, it will.
* Denial. One can claim that the fulfilling events occurred even if they have not. Or, more commonly, one can forget that the prophecy was ever made.
* Self-fulfillment. A person can act deliberately to satisfy a known prophecy.
There are no prophecies in the Bible that cannot easily fit into one or more of those categories.
2. In biblical times, prophecies were not simply predictions. They were warnings of what could or would happen if things did not change. They were meant to influence people's behavior. If the people heeded the prophecy, the events would not come to pass; Jonah 3 gives an example. A fulfilled prophecy was a failed prophecy, because it meant people did not heed the warning.
3. The Bible also contains failed prophecies, in the sense that things God said would happen did not. For example:
Joshua said that God would, without fail, drive out the Jebusites and Canaanites, among others (Josh. 3:9-10). But those tribes were not driven out (Josh. 15:63, 17:12-13).
Ezekiel said Egypt would be made an uninhabited wasteland for forty years (29:10-14), and Nebuchadrezzar would plunder it (29:19-20). Neither happened.

4. Other religions claim many fulfilled prophecies, too ( http://www.bci.org/prophecy-fulfilled/ ).

Non-Christians don't see that verse from the Christian perspective.
14. When you also add that Daniel chapter 9 tells us when he would start his ministry and when he would die it makes a convincing argument. To reasonable people I mean
15. lmao. 1). there is no historical record for jesus--all writings about him are 40 to 50 years after the myths death--meaning there wasn't anyone that was writing from first person knowledge--no records of any sort of any of the miracles etc. It's relatively easy to write that a story fullfilled the propehcy of another story--thats sort of a gimee. Further--how do you explain the same propehcy of mithras and horace?
16. This is why we use the whole bible, hebrew and greek scriptures. By doing this people can see the prophecies that have been filled and those taking place today. We are told to keep alert and stay awake. The Great Tribulation is just around the corner.
17. Well, for one, it said that he would be named Immanuel...and he was named Jesus. So, the prophecy is wrong on that account...and the apologetic excuse is...well, nothing more than a poor excuse.
That said, it is HIGHLY likely that the life of Jesus was simply modeled after that passage by the later writers who wrote about his birth - after all, none of them were eye witnesses to his birth. (the earliest gospel is believed to have been written down at least 40+ years after Jesus' death, around 70AD.)
18. Yes good single point. The bible hold s
the answers to your question and belief,
Of the hundreds if prophecies we have in the bible and there are so many some stilldeny or have never been revealed Jesus Christ.
Some prophecies are very old like well over 3 thousand years old.
Some fgur the language change was only 4 hundreds years ago
That I domnot believe. The work to have the bbiblee available to all was a major task since recording keeping and paper does not alwys last nor was print in production available,..
19. Not true! Isaiah is talking about Israel - according to the Jews who actually wrote the damn thing. So, yeah, I dismiss your interpretation of the prophecy - now what are you going to do?
20. how is it possible that it was predicted the same year , day and month that the jews would go back to Israel
O i Know Da GOD!
he is perfect in every way ,there are things that the flesh can't do that only the spirit can .
Then, in 1948, the Nation of Israel was officially reinstated by the governments of the world. The Jews started returning in large numbers to their ancient homeland. Since then, the Jewish people have survived major conflicts, culminating in the reclaiming of Jerusalem after the Six-Day War in 1967. Over nearly two millennia without a homeland, the Nation of Israel never lost its national, cultural, or religious identity. It seems the Jewish people have returned to the land promised by God through Abraham.
