2012... sad little prophecy?
Bull****!
We should all know that it will not end as the Bible ( in REVELATION, I think) it states that no one will know when the end will come.
Aside from Holy Scripture and more to the Mayans, their calendar is a circular that will simply reset for the 13th time. Also remember that they died out so perhaps their calender was unfinished... just a thought.
Also, if I remember correctly, which I do because I was only 8 when it occurred, the end of 1999? If I recall correctly the world was suppose to end then with one of the following reasons: A) Computers (for some reason) could not change from 1999 to 2000 (although you could put it into a calculator just fine). B) A computer virus was to infect the WWW and make all technology stop. C) The computers were to grow some 'brains' and rebel against us like Skynet in Terminator.
I also find that (in the past) the SUPER Religious thought the world to end during the 1800s and early 1900s but when the sun rose the next morning, the group of believers committed suicide.
I find that any and all prophecies for the date 12/21/2012 bogus. Even natives living in Latin America find that using the Mayan for Apocalypse Prophecies demeaning.
Look at this site to see what I mean: http://www.askmen.com/entertainment/special_feature_300/374b_2012-5-things-you-didnt-know.html
I say, just leave knowing when the world ends to God.
Do you people really believe a supposed prophecy (as people assume it is the END) from a race of native people that, again SUPPOSEDLY, had powers to see the end of the world, but not there own end of civilization?
How humiliating it that. It is like Final Destination movies and the premonitions that are to save people only to have then killed in a similar way.
To Jennifer W
That is how the prophecy was to be thought but someone said otherwise and now look at the mess.

1. If the world ends it will not be from the hand of a fake god. It will happen from purely scientific reason. (i.e. by asteroid strike, pole shift, something of that nature.) Even if I thought that there was a god, he doesn't have any say in any of this anyway.
And no Y2K had nothing with the world ending. It had everything to do will mass chaos due to economic systems collapsing because of major computer errors.
2. I agree it is bogus its just the next Y2K. no man will know when the world will end.
3. Well the mayans worshiped the european guy that came, stole their money, killed them, and conquered the village. If they're predicting anything, I'm not gonna believe it.
4. What if Y2K was created so we would not believe in 2012? Just a thought.
5. Well I think/know that it will happen they way it says in the Bible.
6. They are predictions. That's all. Anything can happen, but computers turning on us and rebelling is one of the funniest things I've heard. If that could happen, it would probably be somewhere further in the future than 2012. In my opinion it is bogus. All of it is. Just my opinion though. A lot of others seem to believe it will happen.
I believe not in any God or Satan or the like, but I believe when we keep fucking with nature and doing things to the world like all the polluting, demolishing of things, and consummation of all the resources, it will eventually bite us in the ass. Something bad may eventually happen, who knows? Maybe there will be an all out nuclear war or something in 2012. Maybe there won't. There is no way of knowing what is really going to happen or if there is going to be an end of the world especially in 2012.
I think it's just a sad little prophecy. Maybe the world will end in 2012. It would be best for me. Maybe it will end tomorrow, make things much easier in my life =P
7. I have never believed the world would end, nor do I believe the Mayans predicted it. My understanding of the prediction is that the world will change as we know it, and I believe that is already happening thanks to Obama, but his change will reach it's peak on that day, whether that is for the good or the bad. Another version I've heard is that we will come to a new awakening, maybe it means the superpowers of the world will be exposed for what they really are. ;-)
8. Its funny how u believe in a god (basically an all powerful dood who thought the best way to get people to believe in him was to send jesus or mohammed or whoever when its more easier if u just come on down urself) and use it to say that all other prophecies are fake. But that's just a general opinion...if u ask me, I refuse to believe in a god who can't even announce his own existence in person or a civilization that thought they could predict the apocalypse yet couldn't predict their own demise.
9. It might as well be the end of the world if Palin really runs!
