What is the Message?

What funny thing can i say at the beginning of my speech about The mayan prophecies of 12-21-2012?

I need to do a speech about this topic and i need a good attention getter... PLEASE HELP

1. I don't about the beginning but you could say that the calendar ends on that date because the dummies ran out of space on their circle.

2. Umm well if you are in your sophomore year or high school or college you could make a joke that its not gonna end because of global warming or nuclear war, it because you guys are graduating, and wreaking havoc on the world!
ummm other than that idk... sorry

3. If you are planning to have your speech tell the truth, you could say something like, "About the Mayan prophecies.....there weren't any." Then act as if you are finished and start to walk away. Then you can step back to the podium and say "Seriously, the Maya weren't in the business of prophecy. They only predicted things like eclipses and when to plant and harvest their crops."
