Do you think these recent Earthquakes are leading up to 2012?
I know a lot about the 2012 doomsday prophecies but do you think with all the recent happenings and massive Earthquakes could be leading up to 2012? I believe some have said that you will start seeing more and more disasters as the time gets closer? Could this possibly be true? And the whole thing about it lining up in the middle of the milky way even possible and cause cataclysmic occurrences?

1. There have always been earthquakes and always will -- they happen every day. Some are bigger than others and get more press. 2012 is a hoax.
2. I don't know about all the others, but it is possible that the earth aligns itself with the milky way.
3. That's a load of crap. Just like the last 20,000 times this question was posted. Please learn how to use the search function.
4. no..plz use ur own common sense. it is just an other rumor bec no one is able to see the future :))
and even if it is than we cant do anything bec one day we all have to die and it no matter if it is Today or Tomorrow.. we all have to see that Judgment day so it is better to not believe on that kindaa BULLSHIT..thx
5. 2012 is not real.
Watch, but Global warming is very real. And for all the dumb a's/
Global warming gives the earth more precipitation. That explains all the snow worldwide. Since when does Texas get snow?
6. Every breath of yours is leading up to 2012
7. You're an idiot, you wouldn't be asking this question if you had the brains to know that 2012 is a complete hoax.
8. i just heard that the calandar maker died before starting 2013 and his dumb kid wasn't paying
attension as his dad was teaching him. that's why their calandar ended in 2012.
9. No.
We have had earthquakes for billions of years, we will continue to have them well after 2012.
There are NO 2012 doomsday prophesies (not real ones, anyways).
All the prophesies associated with the Big 2012 Hoax were created during the summer of 2003 by charlatans who had already made money with the "Planet X" hoax (we all died in May-June 2003).
They created them by taking other hoaxes, lies and stories (none of which talked of 2012) and changing them to fit their chosen date (itself based on a lie).
The Sun lines up with the middle of the Milky Way twice every year.
The Sun cannot line up with the centre of the Galaxy (it always misses by at least 5.5 degrees and the closest approach was a few years ago -- it is one of the hoaxes that was modified by the charlatans when they created the Big 2012 Hoax).
The Sun (and us with it) crosses the plane of the Galaxy every 28 million years or so. Since we are still moving away from the plane, the next passage will be in more than 14 million years.
I will try to stick around to see if it brings "cataclysmic occurrences".
10. 2012 is a complete HOAX.
Earthquakes are real. We have dozens of Earthquakes every day somewhere on the planet. Most cannot be felt as they are less than magnitude 2.0.
11. I don't know if the earthquakes are leading up to 2012 per se, but I do believe that something big is happening. For everyone that keeps saying that earthquakes happen every day, yes they do, but several big ones in just a few monthes isn't just normal activity. There is something seismic happening with the earth, and it may not be 2012, but it is something.
12. Well, I don't know if this has to do with 2012 but the earthquake in Chili has tipped the earth's axis and made our days a microsecond or two shorter. If you look at the scientific thoughts surrounding 2012 they think the axis will shift completely. This is something that has happened before. It does not mean the world is going to end or explode or whatever but we are looking to line up in the milky way. Also, their is a chance, from how we will be in relation to the sun, that their could be some solar storms that will mess with our technology.

13. No.
Because time does not stop, everything that happens is leading up to 2012, just as everything that happens in leading up to 2013 and 2021, etc.
You may know a lot about 2012 doomsday prophecies, but do you know they are a hoax?
There is nothing unusual about the earthquakes and natural disasters that have occurred recently.
It’s just nature doing its thing. Sometimes coincidences happen.
Earthquakes are caused by the release of stresses that build up in the brittle upper crust as a result of plate tectonic activity.
We are not experiencing any more earthquakes than normal, it just may appear that way because we have better global monitoring and better global communication now than in the past.
14. How can it not be? 2012 looms in our future as big as life like a giant machine rolling and crushing and grinding and we will be consumed! I have personally purchased a ton of stuff on credit that doesn't come due till 2012, what a joke I'll play on all those unbelievers. Just when they expect me to start paying them back BOOM!!! it will all be over and I'll be frozen in my cryogenic survival capsule hurling through the void.
15. No, and there were NO 2012 prophecies. These were all invented by a bunch of dingbats and scam artists to separate you from your money. 2012 has no greater chance of being the end of the world than any year randomly chosen year. It was a convenient choice for the hoaxers after their 2003 doomsday failed to occur on schedule.
The number and intensity of earthquakes is not increasing. Our ability to detect them is greatly increasing. They are also being reported by the news media more rapidly and covered more widely.
Earthquakes of the magnitude of the Haiti and Chile quakes happen on the average 2 to 3 times per year. It is just coincidence that these two occurred closely together.
"The USGS estimates that several million earthquakes occur in the world each year. Many go undetected because they hit remote areas or have very small magnitudes. The NEIC now locates about 50 earthquakes each day, or about 20,000 a year.
As more and more seismographs are installed in the world, more earthquakes can be and have been located. However, the number of large earthquakes (magnitude 6.0 and greater) has stayed relatively constant.
A partial explanation may lie in the fact that in the last twenty years, we have definitely had an increase in the number of earthquakes we have been able to locate each year. This is because of the tremendous increase in the number of seismograph stations in the world and the many improvements in global communications. In 1931, there were about 350 stations operating in the world; today, there are more than 8,000 stations and the data now comes in rapidly from these stations by electronic mail, internet and satellite. This increase in the number of stations and the more timely receipt of data has allowed us and other seismological centers to locate earthquakes more rapidly and to locate many small earthquakes which were undetected in earlier years. The NEIC now locates about 20,000 earthquakes each year or approximately 50 per day. Also, because of the improvements in communications and the increased interest in the environment and natural disasters, the public now learns about more earthquakes.
According to long-term records (since about 1900), we expect about 17 major earthquakes (7.0 - 7.9) and one great earthquake (8.0 or above) in any given year."
16. 2012 is the supposed ending of the 5th age of the sun, the Mayans say, people don't like hearing end of the world theories and always dismiss them, but both sides are nothing, but peer pressure some want you to panick & believe the others ridicule and make you an outcast for believing, get educated on all the facts it's not a yes or no thing.
Here are some things to consider:
