7. False. It's the end of the Mayan calendar. The Mayan would have celebrated to reach the end of the calendar. It's not the world end. It's a new beginning.

8. completely, 100% false. Because the Mayans never predicted the end of the world, and especially never gave a date for it. The 2012 'end of the world' idea comes from a misunderstanding of the fact that the Mayan calendar ends on December 24, 2012. Not the world. At this point the Mayan calendar simply no longer tracks the days and years.

Just because the Mayans didn't finish the calendar does not mean were all going to die. You know how we have decades, centuries, years, etc.? Well its a new century-thing, I don't know what the name is called but yeah. Say it's called uh umm a-...billionade :] it will be 2 "billionades" in December of 2012. So basically they'll just start a new calendar! :)
