What is the Message?

What do you think about the many doomsday prophecies for the year 2012?

Nostradamus, The Bible, the Mayan Calendar, I' Ching, etc, have all made claims that doomsday is coming in 2012. Are they correct?

1. No it's not true... It's just another fallacy that beguiles the naive. It is totally infelicitous! Don't listen to it. Besides, death is inevitable anyway. Why fear the inevitable?

and by the way, the only place the 2012 thing came from was the Mayan calender, and even then it's a stretch

10. Nope, when the world doesn't end in 2012 dumbasses will just predict another year, and when the world doesn't end they will just pick another year. This has been going on for a long time.

mayans had a calendar, they stopped making it. unless the calendar says there is a specific END to all civilization it doesnt mean the end of the world.
no matter what anyone says!

i have a calendar that ended on december 31. other calanders end after 18 months. it doesnt mean its the end of hte world.

Nostradamus interpretations are so convoluted. that anyone might interpret the truth by History repeating itself. although i think somethings are dead on.
he was afraid of losing his life so he spoke in riddles and not in the truth! that makes him a false prophet. i dont care what people say about this.

he prophesied for money! that makes anyone a false prophet.

as for 2012 the world could end any day, even in the next 50 years or it could last another 1200 years. it all depends on the will of God. and his mercies.

13. "The Bible" has no connection to the 2012 thing. It comes from the end of the Mayan calender...has nothing to do with Christianity whatsoever. Besides, any real Christian knows the verse well-

Matthew 24:36-

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."

Attempts to predict an exact doomsday will always fail. If you are old enough you can remember theories for 1967, 1974, 1981, 1988, 1997, 2000, etc.

14. hard to say but the bible does say a lot about disease earthquakes and war which we seem to be having a lot of lately so who knows

15. Why not; all it takes is a death of someone who tried to suggest that the world should get together and create peace, through the disregarding of money...

16. I'm sure by 2013 all these so called interpriters will say they miss calculated something although you never know. After all Nostradamas prediced the start of a war out of the middle east in I think it was 1999 and 2 years later the towers went down. I clearly remember reading his pomes back in 1996 and the ones for that aproxamite time are very accurate and in fact most of his predictions have acurate and do not require medaling so fortune telling is likey very real. Although with this 2012 thing Nostradams predicted the world to continue long after are time so who knows.

Okay, Nostradamus is Accurate. but if anyone knew anything about the 2012 predictions..the sun coming together with the milky way, which hasnt happened in 1519102156 years (overaggerating do not take that literally).. but they predict that weird things are going to happen when that happens in 2012, THE WORLD ISNT ENDING. it is just the start of something that could quite possibly end the world in years to come. they dont really know HENCE why is it a PREDICTION and they have been ACCURATE before but, not on POINT.

And whoever said anything about 2012 and the Bible. you obviously should not write on here.

If there is any statement for the world ending in the bible it is JUDGEMENT DAY.

So we are not going to die anytime soon. so everyone needs to worry about the climate changes when they come. and stop freaking out and telling people you only have 3 years to live!

20. The Bible says nothing about dec.12th 2012. By the way 2012 is fake. I don't believe it. Oh people think that the Mayan Calendar ended dec. 12th 2012 that the world is going to end. Every 2,000 years or so Nature restores its self. Sure you can believe that God can stop natural disasters, One thing he can't It's natural disasters no matter how much faith you have, you can't change the course of nature. Natural disasters come from nature in general.



Reason one: We humans went through this over 2,000 years and some humans survived (mostly away from the equator because of warm tropic areas). So, we can survive too and we are just getting out of this ice age.

Reason two: Mayan is located in the tropics; so if they made the calendar it was made for tropical warm places.

Reason three: If a asteroid set to hit Earth. Our military and Russians military would send all their nuclear bombs to destroy that asteroid before i hit Earth.


I predict that yes we are going to have natural disasters with in a few years but, everyone is not going to die, no doomsday. People think everyone is going to die.If some on occasion die it would be towards the tropics. The warmer it is the more chance natural disasters will occur.

21. I don't know about how accurate these claims are...but, I can tell you that something big is happening around that time and date. As scientists don't know actually what can happen when we are at galaxy's equator. BTW, we are already approaching galaxy equator and as we know that our galaxy is pretty much flat, so a lot of stray asteroids are hoovering in that belt. We will see increasing meteor shower over next few years. Also, a possibility of frequent earthquakes (BTW, we already had 3 quakes in last 7 days: indonesia, costa rica, Southern california)
As Earth will pass through this highly "populated" belt, we will see occassional meteors reaching earth's surface

Anyway, have strong faith in God, and follow 10 commandments.

22. Very much a possibility becoz even nostradamus had predicted the same as mayans. His prophecy ends in 2012 and he indicates that there'll be a ball of fire in the sky which'll be equivalent to sun. This ball of fire will be around for many months. Nostradamus had predicted 9/11 correctly by using the words "king of terror" for osama who'll bring destruction to america. I don't know if i should believe these theories blindly but i do know that something is on the horizon and things have changed. The mayans had predicted that 1987 will mark the start of new era where human beings will pursue materialistic pleasures rather than spiritual so the world will change. More research needs to be done before we assume things. None of the websites give a clear indication..

23. The bible said something about apocalypse but that is a misunderstanding. THE APOCALYPSE IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.
