Public Comments
1. Oh heck no. They thought the world was going to end on Jan 1st, 2000, and look. We're still here.
2. NO!!!!!!!!!! gosh you people are so gulible...
3. no a change of heart
4. Read the answers to the other 10,000+ "do you believe in the 2012 prophecy?" questions on Y!A.
5. hell... a black man is president... who knows what other fuck ups can happen
6. i hope not but they have been correct on everything else and with yellowstone and an astroid being overdue something is bound to happen sometime maybe in this lifetime.
7. I think the suns magnetic field is definitely going to reverse, whether or not that does anything I don't know... also, scientists have confirmed that on Dec 21 2012 the will be an alignment with the centre of our galaxy that could have unknown effects.
8. there were actualy 3 ancient civilizations that had that day marked as special. the only thing that we kno is gonna happen is that our sun is gonna line up with the center of the galaxy. the ancient civilizations predicted this but we are not sure what they thought was going to happen. personally i dont think the world is going to end but strange stuff might happen and a lot of ppl will be hiding in their basements
9. Yawn, another doomsday prophecy.
10. No, the Mayan prophecy did not predict a doomsday. One of the twelve mayan calendars (the one the doomsday prophecy is referring to) goes in great cycles. These cycles last thousands of years (i don't know the exact time) and predict certain events within them. December 21st, 2012, is the end of the last great cycle and when the Mayan calendar resets itself. According to the Mayans this should be a time of great celebration and is a time of really good luck, and the end of the world sort of contradicts that
11. I dont think its gonna happen
12. its not doomsday! and the prophecy doesnt say the world will end..it says that a cycle will end and a new one will begin..do some research and dont get caught up in all this crap.
13. nuh uh
who the hell can predict when we will end just by looking at those infos?
who are they? GOD?
14. No
The Mayans also thought that eclipses were signs that the gods were angry. -.-
Just because they had a good calander doesn't mean they can predict the end of the world....
And anyway, how many times has the world been predicted to end.
I could go into the middle of a town and yell that the Vikings say we are all going to die because their religeon is true and some people would believe me.
So don't worry
Jack :)
15. NO
16. No I think it's a load of nonsense with no scientific basis. Most of the prophecies of Nostradamus are vague and written after he had been licking nutmeg which has hallucinogenic properties.
17. Hay bro there is nothing to be worry about they said 2000 Jan 1st is doomsday. Look we r still here. i use to be so scared intell i found out the truth. As a Muslim I belive a lot of things but this this is just stupid. 2012 IS NOT DOOMSDAY.
They even made a movie 2012 coming in 2009. (idiotc hollywood)
18. I think that the shops will be packed on Dec 22, 2012, with people who were waiting for the world to end and it didn't happen.
19. the only thing that will happen is the 2012 to 3012 calendar will be published
enjoy the day
20. hi sky cat
They said (who ever they are) the end of the world would be new years eve 2000 but were still here,
21. No but you have to admit the way some people react to crap like this is quite funny
22. doubtful.... lets face it the whole imploding of the world's computer and electrical systems didn't happen in 2000 as they predicted so it's unlikely that this will either.
23. The full prophetic phrase attached to that year is *The end of the World As we Know It*, NOT the end of the world!
Actually the galactic alignment in the Heavens scheduled in the Mayan calendar happened in 1987!!..So those changes have already begun and will be largely completed in 2012, and the changes will be positive and not negative, for in 1987 humanity chose collectively at Soul level to change time-lines from the one leading to nuclear armageddon in the late nineties to one leading to a Golden future, as we had evolved spiritually sufficiently not to need to experience those dark biblical predictions in 3D, so their potential was totally voided..
Our collective choice was to move, with our planet, from 3D to 5D, and that has resulted in the current changes to us becoming more sensitive and aware of green issues for example, our planet displaying more earthquake and volcanic activity, storms, fires and the like, our weather and to time itself, which is speeding by ever faster, for in 5D time is not linear as we currently experience it, but a cyclical NOW which includes past, present and future in a kind of oneness!
Interesting times ahead!
24. No.
One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world.
These predictions are scare tactics, conspiracy theories, and chances to make money from books and movies.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.
"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

With love in Christ.
25. The world was supposed to end 20 times over by now, and yet we're still here.
I think iamacatholic's explanation covers it well.
26. hope not bless us all?
27. No. The "2012 doomsday" is a hoax. It's a fraud. It's a con job. It's a cruel and cynical lie being promoted by unscrupulous pseudo-scientific cranks who have a monetary interest: They want to sell their books, videos, 'survival kits', and spaces in non-existent shelters in Antarctica, and to divert attention from the fact that they have been wrong so many times before. It's also being pushed by people who are promoting a Hollywood disaster movie due out later this year.
All of the claims of 'predictions' by the Maya, the Aztecs, the Incas, the Hopi, the Chinese (I Ching), Nostradamus, Sir Isaac Newton, Edgar Cayce, Mother Shipton are false: They did not make the claimed predictions. Predictions by others such as José Argüelles, Terrence McKenna, Nancy Leider, Mark Hazelwood and others are contrived pseudo-scientific nonsense.
There will be no sudden 'pole shift', either geographic or magnetic. There will be no 'killer solar flares'. There is no 'Photon Belt'. These are fiction. There will be no 'galactic alignment' or 'planetary alignment' of any kind, and we will not pass through the central plane of the galaxy, and even if these events were to occur, they would not cause any problems for us.
There is no "Planet X" or Nibiru. If someone claims that this object exists, then many regulars in this forum have been asking for the RA/Dec coordinates for it. One website is offering $5,000 for these coordinates: http://nibiruchallenge.blogspot.com.
As far as what is *really* going to happen:
Olympic summer games in London
Leap Year
U.S. Presidential election
Transit of Venus on June 6th
Disclaimer: Due to the number of 2012/Nibiru/Planet X questions on Yahoo! Answers, this is a cut-and-paste answer. If this answer disappears, it is because it was false-flagged as 'inappropriate' and removed. This has happened to several people in the past few days, because some people on Yahoo! Answers do not want you to see the links below. They would rather have you huddle in fear and darkness, and buy their books.

28. Please read Matthew 24: http://classicbst.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyBible/bible.cgi?passage=mt+24&version=nlt&showtools=0
Matthew 24:15 teaches us that when we see what Daniel the prophet spoke about: the sacrilegious object that causes desecration standing in the Holy Place then we shall all know the end is seconds away. And verse 21 tells us; "For that will be a time of greater horror than anything the world has ever seen or will ever see again."
All of the things that must happen before the time of the end have not happened yet, and it doesn't seem as though they will happen within the next 2-1/2 years.
But, none of us know the hour of the end, so it is best that we stay focused not on worldly events, but on the LORD, for He is the only Way we can be saved.
Be Blessed:-)
29. sure
30. oh yes
31. Most definitely
32. Yes it’s all true.
In December 2012 Nibiru will finally reach the neighbourhood of Earth and the Annunaki will invade again, hoping to enslave humans again to mine gold for them. Imagine their disappointment when planet X also appears out of nowhere and causes a pole shift, thereby making a really big mess of Earth and Nibiru too. Simultaneously, all the planets in our solar system will align as the Earth enters the photon belt around the Seven Sisters, creating a spiritual paradigm shift among humans, passes through the galactic central plane and the Earth, Sun and the galactic centre all line up.
This will of course send the Earth spiralling into the Sun, or maybe away from it, or maybe not, just as a solar storm rages up and causes another pole shift on Earth, putting the poles right back where they were. Meanwhile, the Earth is being pounded by huge invisible mass-less asteroids and all the bees in North America will drop dead. If you have any other global disaster scenarios or predictions from obscure and uncheckable sources like the Mongolian Book of Gabtar they are all true too.
Head for the hills.

33. end of kaliyug start of sat/kriya yug.
34. No this will not happen for a long while:
The first thing is people shouldn't be scared of the approaching date of 12/21/2012. Often Doomsday prophecies are very scary, but the Mayan calendar only stops on that day. The Mayan's never predicted that this would be the end-of-the-world, but the beginning of a new age! Many more predictions about specific dates of the end of times, have been made in the past which have never come true. The predictions of end times appear to increase in certain time periods. After the crucifixion of Jesus Christ the apostles started predicting that the end was near way back then.
During world wars 1&2, the Korean war, and Vietnam war, there were also many predictions of the end times. The media and television programs about 12/21/2012 are only trying to cash in on all of the hype and make a quick profit with 12/21/2012 fast approaching. It is true that mankind is obviously on the edge of another great change, with the recent economic crisis looming, global climate changes occurring, the speed of Internet communication ever increasing. Religious and moral differences world-wide are causing conflicting belief systems about the planets future. The doom and gloom prophecies about December 12, 2012; may or may not have any basis in fact or reality at all!
Do you remember the Y2K frenzy? There is however one interesting astronomical phenomenon that will happen on 12/21/2012 when the sun rises on that day, as seen from Central America, it will be in the direction of Sagittarius in the exact center of the galaxy. While the Mayans deserve credit for figuring this out, as well as all the rest of their marvelous astronomy, none of this means their mythology is reality based. In fact they couldn't even predict their own future of what tomorrow might bring!
