do you believe in the 2012 prophecy?

Do you believe in the 2012 doomsday prophecy, and why? if you believe in the bible Jesus said he would return in 2,000 years. I feel it can't ,go on like this to much longer!

Public Comments

1. No, it's a hoax. There's not even anything in the Bible about 2000 years, which wouldn't be 2012 anyways.

2. 2,000 years would be...you guessed it! The year 2,000. Why wait 12 years?

3. What an original question! One of these days, I'm gonna have to put that question in SEARCH and see how many actually come up. LOL

BTW, no.

4. actually he never said that, he said he would return within the lifetime of someone who met him first time round. so he is actually about 2,000 years overdue. besides it can and it will go on much longer, look around what do you see? war, famine, starvation, genocide. name a single period in human history where things were any different

5. No more than I believed in the Millenium hoax when ALL the computers were going to shut down.

6. All prophecy is nonsense. A-L-L.

7. I do not believe it. I believe the words of Jesus Christ: He said in Matt. 24:36 "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."

Throughout history false prophets have predicted the day that the Lord would return. They had followers who sold everything they owned and sat waiting for God to return. When the false prophecy became evident, some of their followers unfortunately lost their faith in God completely.

I believe that this is the same situation again.

In chapter 11 of the Book of the Revelation of John, there are two prophets who will live in Jerusalem for 3 1/2 years, performing miracles, and protecting the Jewish nation from threatened destruction for that length of time. Then the forces of a world army will kill these prophets, their dead bodies will lie in the streets for 3 days, after which a great voice from heaven will call them up in the presence of their enemies, and they will be brought back to life and lifted up to meet the Messiah.

If this is not in the process of happening, the Lord will not return in 2012. The timing is off. The Mayans finished their calendar, but what makes them the experts on when the Lord returns in glory?

As to the difficulties we are facing - stop looking for the Lord to return to get you out of your difficulties. Pray for strength, read the scriptures, talk to friends, family and if needed, your pastor or a Christian counselor to learn how to make it through your trials and temptations.

God bless you!

8. People misunderstand the Mayan Calendar. It "rolls over" or starts again every few thousand years. In our year 2012 it simply is the end of one of the Mayan periods and starts a new period. It also predicts that some particular Myan "god" will come to the Mayans at each roll over time. There have been a number of previous roll overs.

Only Hollywood believes that 2012 is Doomsday. The Mayans certainly didn't.

I suggest you do further research by searching the Mayan Calendar translations and interpretations on the INTERNET.

9. It's not a prophecy. It's a misunderstanding by ignorant people. They didn't know how to read the Mayan calendar and jumped to an erroneous conclusion. That's by no means a prophecy.
