What is the Message?

I am so scared about 2012 doomsday prophecy?

I'm so scared about 2012, almost to the point I can't sleep at night. When it happens, will we have a quick, painless death? Or a long, painful one? How can you prove that? I don't want the world to end...But I am getting so freaked out. What are your thoughts on 2012?

There is zero scientific evidence that anything will happen. And besides, the Mayans said that something big would happen; they didn't say it would be the end of the world. It could be something good.

11. My thoughts are that the Mayans or whoever just got lazy and didn't continue the calendar after 12012. I would not worry-- people always say the world will end-- Y2K, people even said the world would end last friday.. which it obviously didnt either time.. don't stress and just live life to the fullest.

21. the world is not going to end, settle the frick down. The world has been through MUCH worse than right now. The Middle Ages prolly seemed like the end of the world, and the Black Plague... this is hardly anything worse than a recession. So calm down, humans are going to be around for thousands of years still

22. Without bringing "religion" into it on my part, I look at the 2012 issue this way: If the world is going to end, then it will end. And there isn't a thing I can do about it. So why should I worry? Good luck to you. I hope you can calm down about the 2012 issue some day.

24. the thing is, the mayans said their calendar system would end in december of 2012, which is true, and although they say that will be the end of the world, I think it really just means that's when their calendar ends, and the ancient mayans couldn't think of another way to explain that than the world will end then.

Haha, I'm kidding. To be completely honest I think the 2012 "end of the world" should be taken a little more figuratively. When you think about it, around 2012 -will- be the end of the world. The Old World. The basic fundamentals of our society have changed dramatically over the past fifty years, I believe, in preparation for the death of the old world and the birth of a new one in which we hold new philosophies and ideas.

30. No One knows when the world is going to end. ONLY God knows. It says so in the Bible, and how I know is faith that God is the true one.

They have predicted other dates and we are still here. Have faith in God. Give your worries to God.

The way to Heaven is knowing you are a sinner and that Jesus died for you/all of us. Ask Jesus into your heart and ask for forgiveness of your sins. That is all there is too it. You have to be true in your heart when you ask because God knows your heart more than anyone.

Don't freak out about something that is Not going to happen. God is in control, not the ones who "predict".

31. I wouldn't listen to the doomsday prophecy. No one can predict when the world is going to end. Someone also predicted that in 2000 the world was going to end. Buy we're all still here. Don't get so worked up. Stay calm and take a deep breath. Hope for the best and the best will come. It's just a prophecy that I seriously doubt will happen.

32. the world won't end until Christ returns to earth for his people but it certainly will seem like it will end because of how bad things will become in the near future. Just make sure you live right and be a good person

33. Nonsense, no one knows when the end is, though for individuals born and dieing every day, it can be said the world is starting and ending all the time. Jesus said none but the Father in Heaven knows the answer to that.

34. 2012 was the year the myan calendar stopped. Many believe they did that because there was no point. Very pessimistic. They just didn't see the point in carrying it out further. They couldn't possibly go on indefinitely. Don't lose sleep over it. Even if the world ends, losing sleep now won't do anything to help you later. relax.

36. My thoughts are that there won't be an apocalypse. There's no evidence to indicate that there will be, in fact. Just because some ancient civilization predicted some doomsday doesn't mean they actually had any reason to believe so.

If there IS an end of the world, I'm sure it will be a quick death. Let's run through some events that could cause the end of the world.

Giant Meteor: You will either be crushed, or will be destroyed by the force of the shockwave/tidal wave (you won't have time to drown, you'll just die).

Lava: Really quick, unless it only covers part of your body (which will still be quick). Don't believe that Lord of the Rings stuff, where it Gollum about 10 seconds to sink into the magma.

Black Hole: One second, enjoying your life. The next: poof.

Explosion of the Sun: Instant incineration.

Alien Invasion: No guarantees here. Hopefully you'll get vaporized by a laser, worst case scenario: you get captured and experimented upon.

37. I wouldn't worry so much. They have been saying that for century's. 1999 and Y2K most recently. Besides if it happens it happens. There is no point getting so freaked out about it now. If it is Really bothering you maybe you should talk to a counselor.

it will get to the point that not a single street in the world will be safe and your back lawn or local playground will have bombs going off.

There have been previous doomsday prophecies (including for the year 2000 when a bunch of stupid people committed suicide because of it) but have they ever come true? No.

There's no point in worrying about it. It's not like you're the only one who would experience it, anyway. No one can prove that your death would be painful, painless, or that it will happen in three years.

So all in all, the world won't end. Worrying over nothing is very unhealthy for you, so be positive and just remember that no matter what anyone says, there's NO WAY to predict the sudden end of the world on a specific date. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either naive or wants attention.

I'm sorry if it sounds mean, but really, relax! Enjoy your life! ;)

40. In all my years the world was to end 6 times and never did. Nobody can foresee something of that nature. In the bible God says for not even the son of man, meaning Jesus knows not when the hour shell come.

Jesus will ride down from the sky on white stallions,
The Evil people or unforgiven sinners, will die a pain full death, the mountains will collapse on them, and they will be surrounded by a pool of blood. The believers of god, the ones with forgivin sins, will Stay happily, and all of the deceased will come back to their human form at the time that they were 30 years old. heaven will come down to earth.

If it comes it comes.It won't matter after wards now will it? No use worrying yourself to death about something you can't change.
I believe on this date there will be a great conjunction of the stars and planets, Astronomers have concluded this is so.
It will be a good celestial show but nothing more.

44. I would not loose too much sleep over it. Prophets said that the year 2000 was the end also. I would just deal with the problem as it comes up. Remember, you could get hit by a bus, car or train but you don't worry about that. Day by day.

47. I think it's an interesting theory that makes a lot of sense. But whether it happens or not, no one will really know. Just because the prophecy gets a lot of attention and can be turned in to books and movies to gather the attention of millions, ask yourself this, if we really can scientifically prove that the world will end in 2012, then why isn't anyone doing anything about it now? I'm sure we can survive with all the canned foods and bomb shelters that technology allows us to create.

Wasn't the world supposed to end in 2000 on new years? Scientists have said that the world is supposed to end in ____ years but has it? Nope. I'm still here. You are too. So, I'm not sure as to how this is true or not.

I'm not going to call the mayans dumb, but how in the world could they have predicted that its going to end in 2012? Why not 2007? Or 2089? Although it might happen, I'm not going to live with a deadline over my head, I'll live life to its fullest till the day I die.
