What is the Message?

How does the Prophecy spiritual gift work?

I'd like the prophecy gift and I've been praying. But I'm not so sure how it works.

1. It doesn't work. There is NO such thing as "prophecy" in the real world. It only exists in 3d rate works of fiction.

3. Well, the gift of prophecy is where you have God's direct word come to you so that you can speak it to others. He would tell you what is going to happen in the future.

4. Two forms of the gift of prophecy:

1) Expounding on the Scriptures to help an issue in a person's life
2) Foretelling the future about something

Number 1 is far more common than the second one. And the Bible says that all believers should strongly desire the gift of prophecy, and when the Lord tells you to strongly desire something, then you KNOW that He will give it to you if you ask Him for it :) The gift of prophecy edifies others, which is why it is so good to have :)

5. Praying for it does help, but you have to follow God, know God , have faith in God and much more, you first have to learn things and ask for guidance in understanding His word, visit
