Nostradamus? My wife bought me a video (VHS) showing the predictions of Nostradamus. The conclusion that, in the future, there will be a Third World War... Does anyone have any idea as to when this war is occure?

Nostradamus 2012 or Obama and the Democrats which is more ridiculous? I just finished watching the History Channel and the new show Nostradamus 2012 and it was the most contrived idiotic thing I have ever watched on television. Psychologically speaking, why do people believe in prophecies such as Nostradamus? I am looking for some scholarly research that has been done on why people find prophecies so fascinating and important. I mean, people take Nostradamus very seriously, but I wonder why.
