Did you know about this whole 2012 doomsday prophecy before the movie was announced? I have known about it since like 2006 or 2007 and I hate how the movie attracted so much attention to the date. Before, hardly anyone knew about it. So I was just wondering, did you know about this 2012 doomsday prophecy before the movie was announced?

This would mean that we are moving away from the galactic plane not toward it, and we won’t be due to cross it for another 30 million years.[16] There are also theories that a currently unknown planet, sometimes referred to as planet x or Nibiru, which supposedly has an odd orbit that only enters the local solar system every 3600 years will return in 2012 causing many problems. Do you think our freaky weather could be a prelude to the 2012 doomsday prophecy supposedly triggered in June? I live in Southern california and we are having the freakiest weather ever! Some parts of our valley are getting heavy snow (so unusual!) fall as well as the mountains, tornado's (they are currently streaming footage of a local tornado (full blown), and flash flood warnings vs the extremely hot weather in the hundreds just days before. I read that the supposed 2012 Doomsday might be triggered by an event that will occur in June of this year, and if Hilary Clinton wins the election then the doomsday is certain. Their calender is a tad more accurate then our Gregorian calender used today. What evidence or reasons do Christians have for following the (mistaken) 2012 "prophecy"? First, let's clear up a misunderstanding. The Mayans made no prediction of the end of the world. Their calendar just happens to end in 2012. Being a cyclical calendar, it just starts over from the beginning again. Second, what reasons do Christians (who do follow this 2012 doomsday prophecy) have for believing a supposed Mayan prophecy? What is the evidence, from a Christian perspective, that this completely foreign culture's calendar ending on a particular date = the Rapture, Second Coming, Armageddon, or just plain old ending of the world? They never specifically say the world will end, they just end their calender for a reason I forget. Then I heard the biblical version. I watched a show on the history channel on decoding th bible. It said in 2012 a meteor will fall but it will be crushed. Then my friend said that a meteor is just supposed to come and hit us. If we already know that the 2012 prophecy is not true, why do people still believe in it? Let's face facts.
